“It Begins with Breath”
Founder & President: Major Matthew Prane, USMC (Retired)
Major Matthew Prane, USMC (Retired), proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and brings that same spirit of service to the local community. With a lifelong passion for swimming and a strong commitment to helping others, Matthew founded Next Level Aquatics, a nonprofit organization based in Onslow County, North Carolina.
Next Level Aquatics is committed to improving water safety and saving lives by making accessible, high-quality learn-to-swim education available to children and families throughout the community.
In the Summer 2026, Next Level Aquatics began offering learn-to-swim scholarships to help children and families develop essential aquatic skills, regardless of their financial circumstances. The organization also seeks to expand diversity and participation within the swimming and broader sports community by creating opportunities for more people to discover the benefits of aquatic activity.
Through education, community partnerships, and scholarship opportunities, Major Prane and Next Level Aquatics are working to ensure that swimming is not only an enjoyable activity, but also a life-saving skill accessible to everyone.
